In addition to classified ads in local papers and The Western Producer and buy & sell sites like Kijiji.ca, the SCA is hoping to help producers connect with each other through a new Facebook group. If you have feed for sale or are looking for feed please post here.

VBP+ welcomes $602,250 CAP funding to support program advancement

The Verified Beef Production Plus (VBP+) program, under the umbrella of the Beef Cattle Research Council, a division of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA), welcomes the investment of $602,250 from the Canadian Agriculture Partnership (CAP) Agri-Assurance program, announced Wednesday by Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Marie-Claude Bibeau.

Saskatchewan Forage Council Recognizes Ituna-area Leader at its AGM

Aaron Ivey, well-known Ituna-area rancher and community leader, was recognized for his contributions to the forage industry at last week’s Saskatchewan Forage Council annual general meeting.

A former SFC director and President, Ivey has contributed countless hours to the development and increased profile of forage production in this province. Aaron was instrumental in the creation of the Saskatchewan Forage Network and as the Co-Chair of the steering committee, played a key role in the concept and creation of the Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence. In addition to his dedication to these and many other forage industry initiatives, Aaron is a tireless volunteer within his own community.
